Raja is a poor, hard-working farm hand studying for a good job, and Gowri is the niece of the village landlord. A misunderstanding at their first meeting turns into respect and then feelings, but class and family pride stand between them. Ajith Kumar appears in a supporting role, the only time the two future stars shared the screen.
